WHAT IS PILATES

PILATES is a system of exercise designed to create strength without bulk, increase flexibility, balance and facilitate the mind-body connection.

Pilates uses equipment and resistance training (springs) that provide an equal balance of strengthening and stretching of the muscles. Every movement is based upon first drawing from the body’s center, the abdominals and back. Pilates trains the body in a controlled manner with correct patterns of movement.

Pilates has been established almost 100 years. It is founded on the work of German barne Joseph Pilates, who brought it to New York in 1926. Although new to Indonesia, Pilates is considered main stream fitness in USA, Canada, Australia, Hongkong, Singapore the UK and many parts of Europe.
